If you receive the Pension Credit Guarantee, you and your partner can also get:
Free NHS Prescriptions, Free dental treatment, free NHS sight test, Vouchers to help with the cost of glasses, free NHS wigs and fabric supports, help with necessary travel costs to hospital if you are going for NHS treatment.  NB before you are treated you should tell the doctor, dentist, optitcian, appliance contractor or hospital receptionist that you are entitled to help.  You then produce your letter confirming you are getting guarantee credit.  If you are on a low income or on some other benefits you may also be entitled to help with health costs.  Phone Patient Services on 0845 850 11 66 for more information.

Help from your council or the Social Services or Social Work Department:
Bus Fares, home help, day centres and social clubs, meals on wheels, special housing, special equipment and adapting your home, help with care home fees for people entering care, laundry, fitting a telephone or television (in special circumstances), Contact your council, The Social Services or Social Work Department for more information.

Attendance Allowance

Community Care Grants - are to help you live independently in the community.  You can get money for things like: Furniture, bedding and clothing, Removal expenses and storage charges, visiting someone who is ill, going to a relatives funeral.  CLICK HERE for more information

Help with paying for where you live - If you pay rent or Council Tax you may get help from your local council while you are getting Pension Credit.  This help is called Housing Benefit and Council Tax Credit

The Community Legal Service Fund (Formerly Legal Aid) - provides financial support to people who cannot afford legal advice services.  CLICK HERE for more information.
